In this acrylic painting workshop led by artist Rick Seguso, students will learn how to shape and blend acrylic paint while creating their own sky's horizon.

Date: Saturday, December 14th
Time: 2-3PM
Location: Main Classroom at d'Art Center on 740 Boush Street in Norfolk, VA
Ages: All ages 8+*
*Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This workshop is free and open to the public, but your RSVP gives us an idea on what to expect! We accept walk-ins and RSVPs, but all spaces are first come, first served - an RSVP does not guarantee your space. Please arrive on time.

With help from the Program for Improving Capacity and Capability (PICC) Grant, the d'Art Center is able to bring back free programming for our community, but we need your help to gather information required by the grant to meet our goal in Connecting the Community with the Visual Arts. Before the activity begins, attendees will be asked to fill out a Participation Card that includes questions such as age range, zip code, etc.

About the Artist:
Inspired and influenced by the Old Masters and Post-Impressionists, Seguso’s technique is under-painting in grisaille, and most of his works include varying degrees of glazing, “a technique, often overlooked by modern-day artists but an invaluable tool in creating jewel-like depth and style that is impossible to achieve by just mixing paint,” Seguso says.

Seguso’s colorful past includes working for legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen as his Road Manager and confidant in the mid-1970s. He played a pivotal role in the musician’s rise to stardom.
