An Insider's Guide to Shopping at Selden Market
With 11 storefront shops, rotating pop-ups and anchored by a few favorite local restaurants, Selden Market is the go to for the very best in small, local shopping. Here’s a few tips on how to spend your day shopping with us.
HIT AN EVENT
Follow the Selden Market Facebook Events page to stay up to date on workshops, evening events, and even upcoming pop-ups. There's always something going on, from plant swaps to makers markets for a one-of-a-kind experience.
EAT + DRINK
You can’t shop on an empty stomach. Grab breakfast at the Downtown staple, D’Egg diner Thursday-Sunday before our shops open. Wednesday Ramen Night is the move at The Stockpot Norfolk from 11am-8:30pm. Stockpot has killer desserts, breakfast, and happy hour, too. Chef Sydney Meers' much-buzzed about restaurant, Syd's FishPig Cafe, is also adjacent to Selden Market on Main Street, with eclectic decor and a uniquely unforgettable menu that is classic Syd.
DO NOT leave the Market without a S’mores Amore brownie. Soft brownies and blondies with a graham cracker crust are topped with homemade marshmallow and toasted in front of your eyes making this a uniquely Downtown Norfolk dessert.
No shopping trip is complete without a coffee in hand. Cafe Genevieve offers a true Parisian cafe experience featuring French macarons and artisan beverages. Or unwind with beer or cocktails at The Stockpot, D’Egg, Syd's, or Granby Waffle Shop.
SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISANS
Lorak Jewelry’s workshop is within their modern storefront where they create handcrafted jewelry including custom engagement rings and wedding bands to commemorate a lifetime of love. In addition to hand stitched wallets and bags, let Werther Leather Goods create a custom belt for you while you shop. Choose your leather, width and hardware and leave with a quality genuine leather belt made in Norfolk. VA Goods features the best local products from makers and entrepreneurs across Virginia.
