Committees
We encourage all Downtown constituents to become a member of the DNC. If you are already a member and would like to become more involved, there are several ways to do that. Here are some of the ways, but please contact the DNC to discuss your areas of interest. Committee participation is by invite only.
Committees and Task Forces
Much of the work of the DNC is done through Task Forces that concentrate on an issue and then disband when the issue is either effectively addressed or resolved. The direction of committees and task forces is determined by DNC's annual Action Plan and designated key objectives.
In addition to the Board of Directors, the bylaws mandate the following:
Executive Committee - Officers of the corporation, the immediate past Chairman, and three other Directors appointed by the Chairman. The Chairman may also, in his discretion, appoint any chairman of a corporation committee to serve a one year term.
Nominating Committee - Chaired by the immediate past Chairman with members appointed by the Chairman and approved by the Board of Directors.
The following committees meet on a monthly basis:
- Hospitality Coalition
- Economic Vitality Committee
- NEON Committee
The Downtown 100 Young Professionals Board also meets monthly.
Other Task Forces meet on an as-needed basis. For more information on DNC Committees and Task Forces, contact the DNC office.
