The urban design tour will discuss highlights of Norfolk's urban renewal, from the 1950s onward. Will tell the story of the downfall of cities throughout America in the mid-20th century, the federal programs that catalyzed their redevelopment and demolition, and the projects, people, and visions that revitalized Norfolk in the last half century to become the award-winning urban destination it is today.
