Mental health, especially amongst youth, teens, and young adults, is a community concern. Since July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, the City of Norfolk Community Services Board has partnered with Project ORF to bring the community together for an evening of connection, healing, and support with Surviving Through Mental Health on Thursday, July 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the historic Attucks Theatre (1010 Church St., Norfolk, VA).

This event focuses on how mental health concerns show up differently in young, minority, and economically underserved communities and how collaboration can make a positive impact. Highlights include panel discussions with mental health experts, activists, and survivors, outreach opportunities with local mental health and wellness providers, prizes, raffles, food, music, refreshments, and more.

Individuals, families, and friends of all ages are welcome to attend and participate, especially teens and young adults. Surviving Through Mental Health is a free event and registration is preferred but not required.
