About the speaker: Ulrich Thienel, MD, PhD is the Chief Executive Officer of ReAlta, a clinical stage biotech company focused on rare diseases. ReAlta develop a new class of dual target complement and inflammation inhibitors for a variety of life-threatening medical conditions. Ulrich has over 20 years of experience building successful leadership teams in both large pharma, including Johnson & Johnson, BMS, and Takeda and more recently as CMO in biotech at RRD International and Finch Therapeutics.
Ulrich is a board member of the Greater Norfolk Corporation and the Norfolk Innovation Corridor , both non-profit organizations that support the growth of the local community. Together with his long term partner, Ulrich recently formed Friends of Cinema Puerto Rico, a non-profit organization that promotes the arts and culture of Latinx through cinema and educational programs.
