To introduce this new program, we are offering (2) free workshops in January! 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 (1) 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙨.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
In 𝘈𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘺, students in grades 2-5 will engage in art exploration and creative play within a nurturing environment. Students are encouraged to ask lots of questions and discuss art! They will have the opportunity to play with a variety of art mediums and tools, foster social bonds, learn about different artists and art periods, and use their imagination!

Did you know art is known to be linked to strengthening long-term memory, reading ability, creative thinking skills, and writing fluency? While the class’s primary goal is to offer students a 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁, it may also be curated to support students’ physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development based on peer-reviewed research and best practices.

Thanks to support from the City of Norfolk, we are able to introduce these new youth-centered workshops for free for a limited time!
