Support the Grand Illumination Parade & Holidays in the City

Every year, tens of thousands gather in Downtown Norfolk on the Saturday before Thanksgiving for one magical night to welcome the holiday season to the region. At 7pm, the magnificent Downtown Norfolk skyline lights up, the music starts, and the Grand Illumination Parade begins, officially kicking off Holidays in the City, six weeks of holiday celebration and festivities in Downtown Norfolk.

This year, the 38th Annual Grand Illumination Parade will step off on Saturday, November 23 at 7pm. The theme is sure to fill the crowds with all the classic, nostalgic feel-good holiday vibes: RETRO WONDERLAND!

As a nonprofit organization, Downtown Norfolk Council (DNC) depends on community support and sponsorship in order to produce this spectacular event. The Grand Illumination Parade not only enlivens Downtown, but has become a beloved family tradition that brings communities from across the region together to celebrate the wonder of the holiday season.
