This urban design tour of Downtown Norfolk will discuss highlights of Norfolk's urban renewal, from the 1950s onward. Your Norfolk Tour Company guide will tell the story of the downfall of cities throughout America in the mid-20th century, the federal programs that catalyzed their redevelopment and demolition, and the projects, people, and visions that revitalized Downtown Norfolk in the last half century to become the award-winning urban destination it is today.
