CaribFest Festival and Parade is Virginia’s most anticipated event of the year! It is a fusion of all the different and vibrant Caribbean cultures; the heritage, music, cuisine, dance, traditions, costumes and of course revelry. It is an incredible display of visual and performing arts! Held at Town Point Park in Downtown Norfolk every summer, it absorbs most of the city with its infectious feel-good vibes. You haven’t lived until you have experienced the carnival spirit that is felt at CaribFest! The music played during CaribFest is a different mix of musical styles from the Caribbean and includes genres such as steelpan, Soca, Calypso, Latin, Chutney and Reggae.

CaribFest Grande Parade (Mardi Gras style) is more than just a show it is also a mas band competition. A panel of judges sit along the parade route watching the performers and rewarding them marks on different aspects of their performance. Streets lined with people, colorful floats in all shapes and sizes, marching bands, stilt-walkers...all of which is just a small snapshot of the CaribFest Parade.

Make sure you get there early! The parade is a must for all, young and old alike. So bring your lawn chairs and find yourself the best spot on the block as you enjoy the music and sights of the Caribbean roll by.

The parade portion is free and open to the public, and will take place RAIN OR SHINE!
